Thomas Eldon Ogle, Sr.

Thomas Eldon Ogle, Sr., 72, Peru, Indiana, passed away 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family. 

Born December 25, 1952, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Russell Eldon and Helen Marie McClaran Ogle.

Tom graduated from North Miami High School. He enjoyed being a farmhand most of his life, working at Palmer’s, Providence Dairy, and what is now Gilead Farms. He also had worked at Lobdell Emery and Smithfields. He loved fishing, farming, and playing Solitare for countless hours. He could sit on his porch all the time, just enjoying the outside, and spending as much time as possible with his grandkids. 

Survivors include his three children, Thomas Eldon “TJ” (Mckala) Ogle, Jr., Peru; Teresa F. Smith, Peru; Jacob Edward Ogle (Angelina McGuire); eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Jean Cook, Denver; and Barbara E. (Ron) Thompson, Rochester; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Doris A. Turnpaugh, Carolyn K. Stuber, Betty Jean Miller, Patricia L. Powell, and Diana E. Mitchel.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Mark Spencer officiating. 

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home.
