Our Commitment to our Community

Since 1884, a funeral home has operated continuously in the Denver, Indiana, area. Since opening the doors in a small storefront on what is now State Road 16 in Denver, four families have operated the business.  Moving here from the Cincinnati, Ohio, area, the Gustin family arrived in Denver after Eri Gustin married the daughter of the Wolley family, who founded Wolleytown, northeast of Denver.  The family sold the business to the Kline family who sold it to the McCain family.  It was Joe McCain and his wife Ruth who built the new facility on US 31-a modern facility which was one of the first funeral homes constructed in northern Indiana using a single floor layout and purposefully built for funerals.  Joe died tragically in 1970 and the funeral home was sold to Jefferson Township High School graduate, Hal W. McClain.  After his passing in 2013, his son, Bradley A. McClain has continued to own and operate the business in the northern Miami County.
