Rev. Johnny Eugene Thompson, 82, Twelve Mile, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 15, 2025, at his residence.

Born July 8, 1943, in Amory, Mississippi, he was the son of Elbert Thompson and Ceolia (Gilleylen) McMillan. On April 23, 1977, in Logansport, Indiana, he was married to Nancy Kay Baird, and she survives.

Johnny retired from Bryan Steam Corporation in Peru after forty years of service. He was also a self-employed welder owning and operating Johnny’s Welding near Twelve Mile. He was an ordained Baptist minister and longtime member of Second Missionary Baptist in Kokomo. He was a man of strong faith and loved to preach the Gospel.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Thompson, Twelve Mile; daughter, Andrea Lahrman, Peru; six grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Michael Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Raven Thompson, Zane Lahrman, and Preston Lahrman; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Riggle, and Saxon Coleman; sister, Evelyn Gibson, Birmingham, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Willidine Thompson; and siblings, Dorothy Chaney, William E. Thompson, Mary Jo Thompson, Bobby Thompson, and Glenda Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Rev. Jimmy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Fulton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
