Phyllis J. Wooten

Phyllis J. Wooten, 90, of Peru passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 2:05 a.m. at Waters Nursing Home. Her son Jeff and daughter-in-law Lisa were by her side.

Phyllis was born May 2, 1935, in Miami County, Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Francis "See" Burns. She married Eugene V. Wooten of Peru on December 23, 1951, in Chili, Indiana, and graduated from Richland Township High School (Chili, Indiana) in 1953. She retired from GenCorp in 2000. Phyllis enjoyed vacationing in the Grand Tetons, playing cards, camping, and spending time with friends and all of her grandkids and great-grandkids. Gene and Phyllis had three sons and one daughter: Jeffrey A. Wooten and his wife Lisa, Peru; Steven T. Wooten and his wife Tamara, Fishers; and Troy D. Wooten and his wife Linda, Fort Wayne; one daughter Beth who passed away December 19,1988; two grandsons whom she loved dearly; lan S. Wooten and wife Stacy; Cody E. Wooten and wife Leslie; four great grandchildren, Brody and Palmer; Emma and Caleb; 3 step grandsons, Colin and Emily Gallagher and sons; Will, Conor, and Tommy; Brad Gallagher/Courtney Klopfenstein and daughter Macie; Brennon Gallagher and Shelby and daughter Mabel.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, daughter Beth, and brothers Gilford, Glenn, Herschel, Max, and Garl Burns. Private burial service will be at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Logansport.
