Mark Allen Rusie, 69, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 11:23 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at his residence.
Born August 21, 1956, in Peru, he was the son of John Amos and Linda (Malinda S.) (Miller) Rusie. On June 28, 1986, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to Lori Ann Prior, and she survives.
Mark graduated from North Miami High School in 1974. He enlisted in United States Marine Corp at the age of 17. He proudly served his country for four years before coming home to Miami County. He retired from Delco/GM Electronics in 2006 and then worked as a private contractor at Grissom Airforce Base as an airfield electrician. He owned and operated his own business, RPT Electric (Rusie: Part-Time). Mark had been active over the years in Ole Olsen and loved playing baseball, softball and football. He was a sixty-year active member of Mexico Baptist Church/Community Church of Mexico, where for many years he taught Sunday school and served as a Trustee. He served his congregation as a resident-electrician and took pride in his responsibility of filling the baptistry to welcome new believers to his church family. He also enjoyed boxing and was an avid fisherman who loved spending time on Lake Erie, where he said there was no better place to fish! He was an avid Colts and IU football fan, supporting the cream and crimson his entire life.
Mark and Lori were the proud parents of two daughters, Ashley Rusie, who passed away January 11, 2004, and Alison Rusie (companion, Craig Nutt), who survives in Mexico with her son, Everett Eugene Golliher. Other survivors include siblings, Ann (Bill) Friend, Macy; Mary Beth (Byron) Fites, Macy; Teresa Rusie, Peru; sister-in-law, Dana Rusie, Logansport; bonus siblings, Florence McKinley, Peru; and Kara (Dale) Graham, Macy; father-in-law, James Prior, Peru; brother-in-law, Troy (Lisa) Prior, Denver; sister-in-law, Missy (Jeff) Woolever, Walton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents and daughter, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, John Rusie; three nieces, Leanna Marie Friend, Lincoln Sutton, and Sara Ann Herrell; and mother-in-law, Jan Prior.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, Community Church of Mexico, Indiana, with Pastor Kyle Schnitz officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, with military rites provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit and the United States Marine Corp.
Visitation will be from 1-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the church.
