Marianne “Mary” Miller, 68, Macy, Indiana, passed away at 9:08 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
Born July 26, 1957, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jack Edwin and Evelyn LaVonne (Lauer) Brindle. On April 15, 1978, at the Macy United Methodist Church, she was married to Gregory Eric Miller, and he survives.
Mary was a member of Skinner Chapel and for many years worked as a special needs assistant and advisor in Rochester, Wabash, and Plymouth finishing her career in this profession at Riddel Middle School, a part of Rochester Community Schools where she had graduated in 1975. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and taking care of her cats. She was proud have been one of the earliest female EMTs in Fulton County. A published author, Mary had written When the Whistle Blew. She had achieved a certificate in coding from Vance Granville Academy previously using this skill working for Lutheran Hospitals in Indiana. For several years, while living in North Carolina, she had worked as an assistant in the grant department at Duke University.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Miller, Macy; son, Jason David (Amanda) Miller, Mount Airy, MD; grandchildren, Carlos and Jose Miller; three brothers, David Brindle, New Market; Murry (Marion) Brindle, Florida; and Michael (Jan) Brindle, Spring Hope, NC; and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dan Brindle and Mark Brindle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor David Noel officiating. Burial will follow in Five Corners Cemetery, Macy.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
