Laurabelle Eikenberry Cole, 96, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at her residence.

Born July 7, 1929, in Miami County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles Marvin Eikenberry and Goldie Rebecca Lindesmith Eikenberry. On June 15, 1957, she was married to Wayne Orville Cole, by the Rev. Austin Gable, at the home of her parents.

Laurabelle grew up south of Chili, Indiana, and graduated from Chili High School. She was a longtime member of the Denver First Brethren Church. She later attended the Peru Grace Brethren Church for several years. An avid gardener, Laurabelle enjoyed canning her yearly crop along with a truckload of peaches that she and her husband brought each year from Michigan. She loved crafting, making rag rugs, and summer vacations traveling to new and old favorite places. She operated her own cleaning service working for many people in Mexico taking care of their homes and each Saturday cleaning the Farm Bureau Insurance office.

Survivors include her three children, Duane Cole and Eric Cole, both of rural Peru; and Talitha Fishburn, and husband, Floyd, Denver; two grandchildren, Michelle Gressley, and husband, Jeremy, Denver, and Nathan Fishburn, and wife Aimee, Salinas, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Georgia Eikenberry, Frances Williams, Doris Walters, and a brother, Dallas Eikenberry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Dave Jodry officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Visitation will be from Noon-2:00 p.m. before the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
