Shelly Case Layton Obituary

Shelly Rena (Case) Layton, 50, Peru, and formerly of Denver, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at her residence,

Born May 1, 1973, in Marion, Indiana, she was the daughter Joe Miller and Anna Case Dunn.

Shelly was a 1992 graduate of North Miami High School where she had been a football manager.  She was a patient access lead at Dukes Hospital, where she worked in the registration department.  She loved her job and cared so much about the people that she worked with, both patients and co-workers.  Shelly had many close friends and treasured each person that was part of her life; she made her friends feel loved like they were family, and was truly a person who would give the shirt off of her back to anyone that needed it.  She loved Elvis, collecting Coke memorabilia, scrapbooking, knitting, and vacationing in Tennessee.

Family was a very important part of her life, and she loved all of those who she leaves behind dearly, her two children, son, Garret P. Layton, Peru; and daughter, Megan G. Layton, Peru; two sisters, Cheryl (Lisa) Case, Logansport; and Sherry Shipley, Marion; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ricky Bradshaw II.

Visitation will be from Noon-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
