James M. Skiles, 76, Peru, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.
Born February 21, 1944, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of John and Amanda (Flora) Skiles. On March 28, 1969, in Marion County, Indiana, he was married to Joyce Parman, and she survives.
He attended Landmark Baptist Church, Logansport. For many years, he worked as a farmer and in construction. He was self-employed as a trailer transporter for Indiana R.V., and he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Skiles, Rochester; three sons, Andrew (Michelle) Skiles; Jeremy (Carla) Skiles; and Nathan Skiles, all of Rochester; eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe (Dorothy) Skiles, Homestead, Florida; two sisters, Mary Jane Skiles, Brookville, Ohio; and Martha Skiles, (companion Paul Parkevich), Logansport; and one sister-in-law, Betty Skiles, Delphi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John J. Skiles and Jesse Lee Skiles; and one sister, Miriam Kinzie.
Public visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon on Friday, January 15, 2021, at McClain Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Todd Rhymer officiating. Burial will be in Musselman Cemetery, Carroll County, Indiana.
