Barbara L. Yeargean, 79, Peru, went home to be with her Lord and was welcomed into his loving arms on Christmas Day at 7:12 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru.
Born August 11, 1941, in Ohio, she was the daughter of Paul and Catherine Rice Wehrly. She was married to John Lee Yeargean, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1973.
She graduated from Stivers High School in Dayton, Ohio, and retired from North Miami Community Schools, where she worked as a custodian for thirty-three years. She attended the Peru Church of the Brethren with her daughter. Her favorite times were those spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved going to garage sales and playing with her beloved kitties.
Survivors include two children, Cindy (Brad) Eaglin, Peru; and Michael Yeargean (fiancé, Chris Riley), Warsaw; three grandchildren, Austin Yeargean (fiancé, Alisha Roper), Kokomo; Kara Riley, Warsaw; and Amanda Eaglin, Peru; and three great-grandchildren, Mryah, Leighla, and Kenzie Yeargean.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Richard Gregg, Sr., and Robert Gregg.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Due to COVID19 guidelines, all guests will be required to wear a mask at all times inside the funeral home.
The funeral service will be videotaped and available on her obituary page at www.mcclainfh.com, on Friday. Pastor Phil Troxell will officiate, and burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.
