William E. McCarty, 89, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru, Indiana.
Born February 20, 1931, in Carrol County, Indiana, he was the son of Alva and Elsie Laverne (McGuire) McCarty.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of sixty-three years, Carol (Wilburn) McCarty, whom he married on December 14, 1957; two children, Steven McCarty, Logansport; and Lori (Eric) Thomas, Tucson, AZ; one grandson, Erik (Caya) Walls, Tuscon; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Kay) Logansport; and one brother-in-law, Roland “Tom” Wilburn, Peru.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters, Mary Ellen Fouts, Doris IrenePursch, Wilma Maxine Garrison, Lois J. McCarty, Ruth Miles, Betty June Bauer, and Beverly Ann Pearson; and one brother, Robert Lee McCarty.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Skinner Cemetery, Cass County.
