William J. Leffel, 73, Peru, pased away at 2:49 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Born July 22, 1938 in Denver, Indiana he was the son of William and Delores Laycock Leffel. On May 14, 1959 in Convington, Indiana he was married to Margaret Croft, and she survives.

Bill worked in construction most of his life and owned and operated his own company, Leffel Construction. He also worked for Steinberger Construction, Logansport the last few years before retiring.

He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in Mexico, Indiana and later graduated from IBM School, St. Louis.

He was a member of the non denominational church.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Leffel, Peru; mother, Delores Hodson and her husband Carl, Peru; son, Phillip Leffel and wife Cyndi, Rochester; son-in-law, Greg Holden, Peru; daughter-in-law Tawna Leffel, Peru; three brothers, David Leffel and wife Virginia, Peru; Steve Leffel and wife Mary, Peru; Stanley Leffel and wife Jan, Tennessee. He leaves behind three special grandsons who were the light of his life, Zachary and Nicholas Leffel and Shane Holden. He is also survived by his step grandchildren, Adam Webster, and Courtney Howay and husband Pat, and step great grandchildren Jackson and Samuel Howay.

He was preceded in death by his father, his daughter, Charlotte Holden, and one brother, Tom Leffel.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at McClain Funeral Home with Mark Peters and Janet Nichol officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Visitation will be from 2-8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
