Roy Gerald Reed, 56, Peru, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2020, at his residence.
Born August 2, 1964, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, he was the son Roy C. Reed and Pamela Carol (Bellamy) Rogers. On November 28, 1987, at the Mexico Church of the Brethren, he was married to Lisa Marie Wheetley, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Peru High School before joining the United States Army, where he served with the 199th infantry in Kuwait. He had worked for the Miami County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed Indianapolis Colts, fishing, and skyping with his grandbabies.
Survivors include his wife Lisa Reed, Peru; mother, Pamela Rogers, Peru; two sons, Roy F. (Haylee) Reed, Wyoming; and Kyle J. Reed, Peru; one daughter, Amber Cox, Anderson; two grandsons, Finnley Reed and Sawyer Reed, Wyoming; four siblings, Rick (Martha) Bellamy, Bunker Hill; Jack (LaVerna) Williams, Winchester, KY; Mike Bellamy, Kentucky; and Pamela (Scott) Sopher, Peru; and one sister-in-law, Kasey Walker, Peru.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Robert Reed.
Visitation will be from noon-2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Independent Christian Fellowship, 120 W. 10th St. Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit.
