Richard E. Arthur

Richard Edward “Dick” Arthur, 77, Twelve Mile, passed away at 8:58 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his residence.

Born January 10, 1937 in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of Cecil F. and Mary Nulf Arthur.  On March 15, 1958 at Skinner Chapel near Twelve Mile, he was married to Carol Lee Rimpler, and she survives.

Dick was a United States Army Veteran and attended Fulton Baptist Temple.  For many years he worked as a branch manager and loan officer for the Twelve Mile State Bank and First National Bank of Logansport.  He retired from Rural Community Insurance Company where he worked as a crop insurance adjuster.

In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by three children, Martin R. Arthur and wife Kathleen, Twelve Mile; Michael A. Arthur and wife Jayme, Peru; and Douglas L. Arthur, Indianapolis;  five grandchildren, Lesley A. Stout and husband Justin, Kewanna; Bethany M. Arthur, Carmel; Kelly L. Lally and husband Christopher, Indianapolis; Rachel J. Sprong and husband Travis, Amboy; and Bret R. Arthur and wife Elizabeth, Ft. Wayne; and five great grandchildren, Klayton and Kyle Stout, Gabriel Arthur, and Emma and Silas Sprong.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Luke Arthur, and three siblings, Gertrude Arthur, Sue Ann Nead, and Larry Arthur.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating.  Burial will follow in Skinner Chapel Cemetery, near Twelve Mile.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m.  on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Gentiva Hospice.
