Ralph William Sensel, Jr.

Ralph William Sensel, Jr., 72, Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away at 12:20 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo.

Born July 12, 1954, in Covington, Kentucky, he was the son of Ralph William Sensel, Sr., and Velma Mary (Buerger) Sensel. He was married to Kathy (Nelson) Rose Sensel, and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2023.

Ralph had a unique personality and was a dependable presence to all those around him. He was a devoted husband to his wife, caring for her until her passing and to his children, supporting them in their education. He was a committed employee and was always willing to pick up extra shifts. He wanted the best for family, friends, and neighbors and was quick to lend a hand whenever he saw someone in need of help. He loved his pets, with particular affection for his cats, Green Eyes, Bandit, Snowball, and Midnight. He was very friendly and outgoing. He never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone which would always include a discussion of his interest in finances and Dave Ramsey. He led a frugal lifestyle and was an avid advocate of recycling. He loved live music of all types and spent many joyful evenings taking in a dinner and show with his wife at the Pine Knob Outdoor Theater. He will be remembered most for instilling a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Steven (Robin) Sensel, Peru; and Geoffrey (Meggen) Sensel, Lees Summit, MO; grandchildren, Isabella, Andrew, Alexxis, Collin, Lucy, and Bethany; and great-grandson, Boston Boyd; one brother, Bruce Sensel, Lexington, KY; one sister Lynn (Ed) David, Clermont, FL; and one sister-in-law, Gail (Fort) Sensel, Bowling Green, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Craig Sensel.

A Celebration of life will be on Oct 3 ,2026, from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Rough River Dam State Resort Park, 450 Lodge Rd , Falls of Rough, KY 40119.

The ceremony will be in the Terrace Room and Buffet style meal will be in the Private Dining room.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
