Born on September 4, 1942, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Ernest P. And Mauna F. (Piatt) Shultz.
Tony attended Jefferson Township High School. He married Connie Pugh in 1960 before being drafted into the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. He was a timber buyer most of his life and had a great love for cars, especially several special Chevrolets that he enjoyed working on and showing off. He loved going to car shows and tractor pulls where he was able to spend quality time with his sons over the years. Tony also enjoyed being outside as much as possible: working in the woods as a timber buyer, sitting in the glider on the porch, or working in his yard-making sure to keep the grass meticulously trimmed.
