Larry Bert Mitchell, 79, Peru, passed away at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, September 22, 2016, at his residence.
Born March 7, 1937, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Arthur Glenn and Esther Louise Hartz Mitchell. On September 10, 1960, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to Nancy Lou Noel who survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and was a mechanic by trade, having worked independently and for various companies in the Peru area.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mitchell, Peru; five children, Patricia Ann (Jeff) Cox, Peru; Jane Louise (Jerry) Fisher, Kokomo; James David Mitchell, Kokomo; Jennifer Lynn (DeWayne) Beachey, Kokomo; and Rebecca Sue Mitchell, Lafayette; five grandchildren, Brandy Gross, Jeffery Cox, Ryan Cox, Zachery Fisher, and Morgan Fisher; three siblings, Art (Ginger) Mitchell, Lowell; Tom (Wendy) Mitchell, Peru; and Cathy Mullett, Kokomo. And two step great-grandchildren, Kylie & Mason Beachey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Mitchell.
Military Graveside Rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, with the Miami County Military Rites Team.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
