Karen Ann Freital

Karen Ann (Modzen) Freital, 77, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 11:25 on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

Born February 14, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Richard Modzen and Bernice A. Kisner Modzen.

After graduating from high school, she attended college for a few years where she studied nursing. Over the years she had worked in healthcare, retail sales, and professional cleaning services. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Plymouth.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Theresa) Hunt, Macy; daughter, Lee Ann (Terry) Kidd; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Monica Shields, Muncie, and Linda Myers, New Haven; and one brother, Ronald Strean.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Freital.

Funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday, August 28, 2026, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Burial will follow in Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
