Hershel Ray Hammon, 48, Perrysburg, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at his residence.
Born March 26, 1968, in Elkhart, Indiana, he was the son of Stanley Marlin, Sr. and Vicki Louise Carter Hammon. On April 12, 1986, in Delong, Indiana, he was married to Amy Lynn Brown, and she survives.
Hershel worked for Heckathorn Saw Mill for eleven years after leaving Five Star where he worked as a meat cutter. He enjoyed playing his guitar, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and his beloved dog, "Baby."
Survivors include his wife Amy Hammon, Perrysburg; three children, Faith Copeland, Wabash; Benjimin Hammon, Peru; and Holly Hammon, Peru; sister, Gladys (Doug) Cox, Winona Lake; brother, Stanley (Jackie) Hammon, Peru; grandchildren, Lydia, Elijah, Braxten, Carter, Jorden, Judah, and Eden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at One Tree Crossing, Perrysburg, Indiana, with Pastor Brian Richie officiating.
There will be a time of fellowship for family and friends following the service. Guests are invited to bring a covered dish to share during this time.
