David Jonathan Norman, 94, Macy, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at his residence.
David was born on February 1, 1922, in Macy, Indiana, he was the son of Jesse and Judel Alspach Norman. He was married to Marjorie L. Nichols Norman on January 23, 1948, until her death on December 26, 1987. He was then married to Grace L. Robins Norman, and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2016.
He was a lifelong resident of Macy, where he owned and operated his own bulldozing company until the age of 91, when he retired. He served his country in the Navy Seabees during World War II, and he was a member of the Macy Masonic Lodge.
David is survived by two brothers, Oren Norman, Akron; and Roy Norman, Warsaw; his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jennifer Norman, Macy; three step-children, Richard Robins, Denver; Robert Robins, Macy; and Cindy Robins Squires, Macy; seven grandchildren, Laurie Norman, Boca Raton, Florida; Kelly Sturch, Bellevue, Nebraska; Cindy Ray Peru; Tammy Carter, Peru; Wesley Norman, Macy; David Norman, Peru; Greg Norman, Peru; and Michael Norman of Indianapolis; eleven great grand-children; four great-great grandchildren; and eight step grandchildren, Kayla (Joe) Reed, Illinois; Zachary Malott, Macy; Austin Malott, Macy; Kim Robins, Lafayette, Colorado; Jeff (Rhonda) Robins, Denver; Tara Frush, Warsaw; Christal (Jason) White, Westland, Michigan; Amber (Joseph) Bridge, Monticello, and several step great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his wives Marjorie Nichols Norman and Grace Robins Norman; his son, Thomas E Norman; grand-daughter Shelly Norman; and five brothers and six sisters, Ernest Norman, Nina Norman Murphy, Wilma Norman Gross, William Glen Norman, Martha Norman Wagoner, Elma Ruth Norman Byrer, Alva Norman, Audria Norman Fouts, Kenneth Norman, Irene Norman Powell, and Charles Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery, Macy with military rites provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the funeral home.
