Denver, Indiana

Daniel J. Donaldson, 78, Denver, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 29, 2021, at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

Born January 27, 1943, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of the late James L. Donaldson and Gayle Louise (Dewald) Donaldson.  On October 5, 1963, at the Mexico Church of the Brethren, he was married to the former Holly Lee Weimer, and she survives.

Danny was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico, Indiana.  He was a longtime grain farmer in the North Miami Community.  He was a devout Christian and currently attended New Life Church in Rochester, Indiana.  Over the years he shared his time and talents with his church congregations with his keyboard skills, booming baritone voice, and his calming spirit-always willing to offer a comforting and gentle prayer to someone in need.  He spent many hours enjoying different recreational activities over the years including drag racing, tractor pulling, old-timers basketball games, hunting, and slow-pitch church softball league.

Survivors include his wife Holly Donaldson, Denver; two children, Mike Donaldson, Denver; and Phil Donaldson, Warsaw; one brother, John (Mary Ann) Donaldson, Peru; three grandchildren, Garrett Donaldson, Plainfield; Sarah Donaldson, Logansport; and Rachel Donaldson, Macy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lana Linde.

No public services are being held, however, the family will hold a private graveside memorial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.

McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, has been entrusted with arrangements.  Condolences may be sent online at www.mcclainfh.com.
