Bonnie Sue Bates, 43, Peru, passed away at 3:13 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born September 13, 1971, and was raised by Deloris Murphy, who survives in Indianapolis. She was married to Joseph Allen Bates, and he preceded in death on September 4, 2014.
While at Decatur Township High School, Bonnie excelled in volleyball, known to many on the court as “Killer.” She loved to shoot pool, but most of all she was a homemaker, raising her three children.
She is also survived by three children, Nicole Ashley McIntosh, Indianapolis; Keith Allen Bates, Peru; and Joseph Anthony Bates, Peru; one sister, Kimberly Gonzalez, Madisonville, Tennessee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
One sister, Wendy Sparks, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at McClain Funeral Home with a time for sharing of memories at 7:00 p.m.
