Ricky Allen Shockley, 55, of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:15 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Paris, Ill., on Dec. 3, 1962, the son of Robert E. Shockley and Dorothy (Sisk) Shockley. He married Paula Spencer of Martinsville, Ill., on March 12, 1994.
Ricky worked for Doric in Marshall, Ill., for many years, as well as Yankee Steel in Terre Haute. He loved his family, working with his hands and gardening. Rick was never more content than when he was outdoors, camping, fishing, mushroom hunting or having cook-outs with his friends and family.
Surviving are his wife, Paula (Spencer) Shockley; daughter, Maranda Shockley (Shawn Chapman); two stepdaughters, Rachel Barton (Bill) Fulk and Sarah Barton, all of Terre Haute; as well as five grandchildren, Vinny Demma, Fiona Barton-Dennis, Airiana Demma, Adrien Shockley and Olivia Fulk; brother, Robert "Eddie" (Brenda) Shockley of Dennison, Ill.; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held as a carry-in/cookout at Lincoln Trail State Park (White Oaks Shelter) in Marshall, Ill., on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 2 p.m. (Indiana time).
