Pat Murphy, 86, Indianapolis, and formerly of Peru and Logansport, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on August 20,  2015, at University Heights Health & Living, Indianapolis, Indiana

Born March 15, 1929, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, Mary C. "Pat" Murphy was the daughter of Mitchell and Thressa Melhouse Patnoude.  On May 17, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Logansport, she was married to Donald W. Murphy, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1996.  

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Peru, Indiana.

She is survived by one daughter, Sister Phyllis Murphy, R.S.M., Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Bridget S. Murphy; daughter-in-law, Carolyn M. Murphy, Indianapolis; two brothers, Donald Patnoude, Breckenridge, Minnesota; Leroy Patnoude, Lynwood, Washington; one sister, Beverly Kraft, Devil’s Lake, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael D. Murphy, on May 12, 2012, and one sister, Angeline Thomas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Peru, Indiana, with Father Mike McKinney officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.  A time of visitation will be held in the church vestibule one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Charles Catholic Church Building Renovation Fund or  to HOOP Homeless Ministries, c/o St. Barnabas Church, 8300 Rahke Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46217.
