Mary L. Powell, 91, formerly of Peru, passed away at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake, Indiana.
 
Born March 8, 1923 in Peru, Indiana she was the daughter of Floyd and Lois Judy Behny.
On June 16, 1943, in Denver, Indiana, she was married to Robert A. Powell, and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2008.
 
She was a member of First Christian Church, Peru, Indiana.  She was a graduate of Peru High School in 1941 and retired as an operator for Indiana Bell. For many years, she worked in the kitchen at Peru Junior High School. She had been a Pink Lady at Dukes Memorial Hospital, a member of the Peru Women of the Moose, and Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
 
Survivors include one son, Monte Powell and wife Kim, Warsaw; twin grandsons, Marc and Matthew Powell; and three great-grandsons, Logan, Spencer and Dylan Powell, all of Warsaw.
 
In addition to her parents, Floyd Behny and Lois Judy Behny Miller, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael J. Miller; and two sisters, Dorothy Shields and Jean Tomson.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of service.
