Mary Caroline Herrell, 83, formerly of Mexico, Indiana, passed away at 1:36 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.

Born May 5, 1931 in Hastings, Michigan, she was the daughter of Paul and Gladys Bryant.  On November 14, 1950, she was married to Russell William Herrell, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1989.

Mary was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church.  For many years, she worked in Peru, Indiana at various places including Keller Kleaners, Gallahan Real Estate, and Peru Utilities.

Survivors include her children, Steven Bryant Herrell, South Haven, Michigan; Jon R. Herrell, Florida; and Jerry L. Herrell, Columbia City; grandchildren, Steven Christopher Herrell and wife Lori, Macy; Tanya Swanson and husband Bill, Virginia; and Russell Herrell and wife Sheera, Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Steven William and Sara Ann Herrell; Jessica and Eric Swanson; and Hannah and Ethan Herrell.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Peck, Gretchen (Norma) Stubbs, and Ann Bryant.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Mexico Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Cole officiating. 

Family and friends are invited to gather with the family from 3:30 to 5:30 on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mexico Baptist Church.
