Margaretha M. Strong 68, Denver, passed away at 1 a.m. Thursday July 31, 2014, at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.

She was born on August 30, 1945 in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Donald and Elizabeth Elert. On June 5, 1965 in Madison, she married William Arthur "Bud" Strong. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2013.

Mrs. Strong had worked at Duke's Memorial Hospital, Peru, Indiana from 1976 to 2011. She had been a member of the Peru Moose Lodge and had been an avid bowler in the Moose League. In her spare time she enjoyed, knitting, crocheting, boating and after retiring volunteering at Duke's Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Strong and wife Sara, Denver, William A. "Bill" Strong and wife Gina, Argos, brother, Steve Elert, Oshkosh, Wis., and sister, Georgi Lancaster and husband Paul, St. Germaine, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday Aug. 7, 2014 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
