Joseph “Joe” Edgar Fincher, Jr., 79, Macy, Indiana, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru, Indiana.

Born October 17, 1935, in Roann, Indiana, he was the son of Joseph Edgar, Sr., and Ruth A. Webb Fincher.  On July 2, 1955, at the Perrysburg Baptist Church, he was married to Patsy L. Calloway, and she survives.

Joe was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico, and the National Rifle Association.  He was Past-President of the Indiana Professional, Past-President of the Indianapolis Professional Photographers, Advisory Board Member of The International Professional Photographers Guild, and had earned the Craftsman and Certified Professional Degrees of the Professional Photographers of America.  He was a professional photographer in Miami County, Indiana for fifty-years, and he was the owner/operator of Fincher Photos in Peru for thirty-four years.

An active supporter of the 4-H program, Joe was the Photography Superintendent for over twenty-five years in Miami County and taught photography workshops to 4-H members in Miami and other counties as well as judging in many different counties.

Surviving with his wife are four children, Joseph “Ed” Fincher III and wife Donna; David Fincher and wife Donna, Rochester; Paul Fincher and wife Sheryl, Pasco, WA; and Shelli Fincher, Peru; grandchildren, Lynette (Tom) Mollett, Michael (Angie) Fincher, Jason (Lindsay) Fincher, all of Rochester; Sam Murphy, Indianapolis; Sara (Rey) Garza, St. Louis; Stephanie (Chris) Hughes, Hermiston, OR; Forest (Lynn) Fincher, Pasco, W; and Jessi and Billi Fisher, Peru; great-grandchildren, Tommy and Timmy Mollett, Rochester; Alexis Hicks, Argos; Payton, Cory, Masen, Chase, Gavin, and Kinley Fincher, Rochester; Owen and Brille Fincher, Pasco, WA; Maddison, Maxton, and Michael Hughes, Hermiston, Oregon; and Rosemary Garza, St. Louis; sisters, Marilyn Storey and husband David, Lois Baich; and brother, Lowell Fincher; special friends, Jim and Rae Panther.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, William Baich, and sister-in-law, Suzan Fincher.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Life United Methodist Church or the National Rifle Association.

A church service celebrating the life of Joe Fincher will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at New Life United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Polito officiating followed by a time of visitation in the church fellowship hall until 3:00 p.m.
