Imogene L (Patton) Creek

August 18, 1929 ~ December 28, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Imogene Creek, 87, passed from this life on December 28, 2016, following an extended illness.  She was a treasure to everyone who knew her.

Imogene was born at home on the family farm on August 15, 1929, in Montgomery County, Indiana, to Chelsey and Edna Deeter Patton.  In her childhood, she frolicked with her bulldog, Buzz, fished with her fisherman father, and shopped and went to the movies with her family in the nearby towns of Crawfordsville and New Richmond.  Much time was also spent visiting her many aunts and uncles who lived in the area.

She was a graduate of Waynetown High School and Purdue University.  It was at Purdue where she met her future husband, Donald T Creek.  They were married August 26, 1951, at Liberty Chapel in Montgomery County, and after short stays in Veedersburg, Indiana, and London, Ohio, Imogene and Donald bought a home in Mexico, Indiana, in 1956 and have lived there since then.

Imogene was active in the Mexico United Methodist Church and started and ran a senior citizen group in Mexico which she called the Jolly Timers.  Many local senior citizens benefitted from the many hours she put into this cause.  She loved cats and dogs, enjoyed music, and enjoyed travelling the United States with her husband, Don.  She was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Creek; daughter, Donna Fitch (Gary); daughter, SueAnn Binnion; and son, Daniel Creek; grandchildren Amanda Trott and husband, Doug; Stephanie Anne Moore and husband, Jerry: great grandchildren: Stewie, Victor, and Emma Trott, and Matthew Moore.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Clyde Patton.

Private family services were held Friday, December 30, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Chaplain Jason See officiating.  She was laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.

Arrangements were entrusted to McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
