Dorothy June Butt, 85, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 10:55 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru, Indiana.

She was born on May 11, 1930, in Rinard, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Rhoda (Butt) Pearce. On February 22, 1953, in Erie, Indiana, she married Kenneth M. Butt, and he survives.

Dorothy had been a homemaker and in earlier years had worked as a bookkeeper for Jones Hardware. She was an active member of the Erie United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, going to garage sales and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth M. Butt, Peru, Indiana; children, Teresa and husband Greg Blue, Fifield, Wisconsin; Christine Meador and husband Andy Katz, Indianapolis, Indiana; Julia and husband Ron McGinnis, Monticello, Kentucky; Steven Butt and fiance’ Angela Pauda, Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; twin sister, Doris Beck, Peru, Indiana; and sister, Frances Gochenour, Peru, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Pearce; sisters, Elizabeth Miller, Ruth Houlihan, and Charlotte Grimes; sons-in-law, Brian Dugan, and Mike Meador; and daughter-in-law, Alice Butt.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2015, at McClain funeral Home, Denver, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, and one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana.
